A Place Built Around Patient Learning
Kasem Ruam began with a straightforward idea: that understanding your finances should not require a background in economics.
← Back to HomeHow Kasem Ruam Came to Be
Kasem Ruam — which in Thai carries the sense of "shared prosperity" — was founded in Chiang Mai in 2013 by a small group of educators and financial practitioners who noticed a gap. Most financial education in Thailand was aimed at young professionals or at institutions. Adults who had built careers, raised families, and accumulated savings of their own were largely left without relevant, practical guidance.
The founders set out to change that with something modest in scale but clear in purpose: a learning centre where people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s could sit down, ask honest questions, and leave with a clearer sense of where they stood financially and where they might go.
Over the years, we have refined our programmes through feedback from hundreds of participants across Chiang Mai and the wider northern region. What has not changed is our commitment to warmth, patience, and respect for the experience each person brings through the door.
Our Mission
To make sound financial thinking accessible to every adult in Thailand who is ready to take a thoughtful, informed approach to the years ahead.
Our Values
-
Patience
We never rush. Every question deserves a careful, honest answer.
-
Respect
We treat each participant as a capable adult, not a student to be lectured.
-
Transparency
We explain what we know and are clear about where complexity remains.
-
Practicality
Everything we teach is meant to be used — not just understood in the classroom.
The People Behind the Programmes
A small, committed team with backgrounds in financial planning, adult education, and community outreach.
Siriwan Nakaew
Lead Facilitator & Co-Founder
Siriwan brings over 18 years of experience in adult financial education across Thailand. She designed the core curriculum for Kasem Ruam with a focus on clarity and accessibility.
Anuwat Thipcha
Programme Director
Anuwat oversees the structure and content of all programmes. His background in Thai financial regulation helps ensure that everything participants learn is grounded in current, local realities.
Prapapha Mongkol
Participant Relations
Prapapha is the first point of contact for anyone enquiring about our programmes. Her gentle approach and deep knowledge of our offerings make the enrolment process relaxed and informative.
How We Ensure Quality
Our commitment to quality runs through every aspect of what we do — from how we design our materials to how we follow up after each programme.
Updated Content
Programme materials are reviewed each quarter against current Thai financial regulation, fund market conditions, and participant feedback to remain relevant and accurate.
Experienced Facilitators
Every session is led by someone with both subject knowledge and genuine experience communicating with adult learners — not simply a technical specialist.
Post-Session Support
Participants can reach out with follow-up questions for up to 30 days after completing a programme. Support is provided by the same facilitator who ran the sessions.
Privacy & Discretion
Participants are never asked to share personal financial details in group settings. Individual consultations are strictly confidential and never shared.
Small Group Sizes
We cap all sessions at 12 participants. This is a deliberate choice that protects the quality of discussion and allows each person adequate time with the facilitator.
Member of Thai FPA
Kasem Ruam maintains membership with the Thai Financial Planners Association, staying aligned with national professional standards and continuing education requirements.
Financial Literacy as a Living Practice
At Kasem Ruam, we view financial literacy not as a checklist of facts to memorise, but as an ongoing practice — one that adapts as your circumstances, the markets, and Thai financial regulations evolve over time. This perspective shapes how we build and update each of our three core programmes.
The Savings Goal Setting Workshop draws from behavioural research on how adults approach goal formation, blending structured frameworks with genuine discussion. The Mutual Fund Navigation Course grounds every concept in real Thai fund data from recognised providers registered with the SEC Thailand. The Holistic Wealth Preservation programme takes a whole-picture view, acknowledging that protecting what you have built requires coordination across savings, insurance, legal documentation, and personal spending habits.
Located in Chang Moi, Chiang Mai — a district with a long history of community-oriented enterprise — Kasem Ruam draws participants from across the greater Chiang Mai area, including Hang Dong, San Kamphaeng, Mae Rim, and Doi Saket. Many arrive having heard about us from a neighbour or colleague who found the experience both practical and comfortable.
We welcome enquiries in Thai and English, and our sessions are conducted in both languages depending on participant preference. Our aim is always the same: that you leave knowing something genuinely useful about your financial situation and what you might do next.
